Private training is very expensive, with most 1:1 lessons costing over $100/hour. The Hitting Academy allows athletes to get the same individualized training of a private lesson, with the best coaches in the area, at a fraction of the price. Hitting Academy athletes are able to train 3x as often for less than the price of doing one private lesson per week.
Individualized baseball hitting programs
- The Hitting Academy operates in small groups (2-3 players per coach) to allow for a fun and competitive environment, without sacrificing individual development needs.
- The 1:1 initial assessment allows coaches to evaluate each player’s skillset, and begin crafting their personalized development plan before their first academy session.
- Athletes have the flexibility to book session days/times that work with their schedule and are able to attend up to three sessions per week.
- Sessions are 75 minutes long and include warm-up and hitting prep in the first 15 minutes.
Professional-Level Baseball Coaching
Over the last 5+ years, our coaches have trained some of the best high school, college, and professional hitters in the area. Colangelo Baseball knows what it takes to succeed at the next level and are passionate about helping develop the next wave of local talent.
All programs are designed by the Colangelo Baseball team of professional-level hitting coaches, led by Mike Colangelo and Kevin Lachance:
Evolving session times to fit busy schedules
- Athletes can choose from a variety of session days/times to accommodate even the busiest schedules. Available days and time slots are also adjusted throughout the year to be as accessible as possible.
- During the offseason, the Hitting Academy is open 5-7 days per week with multiple time slots each day.
Hitting academy memberships

Why is there an initial assessment?
- Due to the structure of the hitting academy, the initial assessment allows our coaches to provide 1:1 attention to each athlete and evaluate their specific needs.
- The assessment insights are then used to create individualized development plans that can be utilized on Day 1 - maximizing time spent during every session.
- The assessment findings aid in the proper grouping of players, ensuring each athlete is training with similarly skilled individuals. This is a key component of the hitting academy structure, as it fosters a competitive and fun environment where players naturally push their peers further in their development.
